The definition of potted plants refers to the general term for plants planted in pots, and the plants and pots are integrated into a whole, becoming a miniature landscape. Unlike artificial flowers that can be used in potted flowers, potted plants must use living plants.
Development History
Potted plants are a change from traditional Chinese garden art. As for the cultivation of ornamental plants, it originated from ancient garden landscaping, which imitated natural landscapes to create gardens.
There were Yaoshen in the summer, Lutai in the Shang Dynasty, and Lingtai in the Zhou Dynasty. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built Taiye Pond in Jianzhang Palace, stacking it into three mountains: Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingtai. In the middle of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Emperor Xuanwu Yuan Ke built Jingming Temple and Yaoguang Temple. In the temple, "green forests hang down, green leaves are patterns, moss and purple pavilions, and floating paths are connected. Although there are four seasons outside, there is no cold or heat inside." Outside the eaves, there are mountain pools, covered with reeds, cattails, water chestnuts, and lotus roots; purple armor and yellow scales appear and disappear in the dense algae; green ducks and white geese float and sink in the green water.
